Hancock Farmland Services “HFS” is our farmland property management firm headquartered in Turlock, California, that operates and manages the majority of HAIG’s US farmland investments.
HFS oversees the majority of our clients US permanent and row crop assets and handles budgeting, oversight and leases negotiations. HFS’ permanent crop operations are conducted by Farmland Management Services (FMS). HAIG offers our clients a vertically-integrated farmland investment manager with operations strength, which is unparalleled in the industry today.
The structure allows us to optimize our human and capital resources across the full spectrum of our integrated organization—improving our ability to deploy best management practices, monitor property performance, and source and close deals. In addition, the increased alignment enhances our risk management and stewardship programs, and deepens our connections in local marketplaces throughout the US.
HAIG works with both captive and third-party management firms. In addition, HFS and FMS, HAIG works closely with external property management organizations that provide specialty oversight in certain commodities. In North America, property management is provided by closely aligned firms carefully chosen for their capabilities and their fit with HAIG’s investment strategy.
The alliances allow us to gain operational efficiencies and provide additional options to maximize value for our clients. HAIG continually evaluates the quality of services received and may explore other options if appropriate. Operations in Australia are managed by Hancock Farmland Services Australia (HFSA) and Hancock Farm Company (HFC) which provide operational oversight of our permanent crop portfolio in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland. Through these two entities, HAIG has been managing and operating assets in Australia since 2000 with an experienced acquisitions and due diligence team with over 80 years in collective asset identification and assessment.
